gals, guys, dogs, blogs, grandmas, sisters, cousins, uncles...this could go on for awhile.

THIS IS YOUR FINAL CALL! (sort of.)
tomorrow, june 30th, will be the last day to sign up for the M O V E  Y O U R  B O O T Y  C H A L L E N G E ! #bootymove

if you missed #ohheyfriday here are the details...

the whole idea is to stay motivated to move more throughout the day! so, if you have a fitbit or pedometer or some other magical way to count your steps we're in bizz-nass. your goal is to hit 10,000 steps five days a week for the entire month of july. that's at least 50k steps each week....or 200k steps for the entire month. if you hit your goal of 50k steps each week you'll be qualified to win the pot of entries! (ie. if 50 people participate in this challenge and pay their $1...the winner of the challenge will receive $50.) so...

1 // fill out THIS FORM and send in your $1 via paypal to karlib83@gmail.com.

2 // the challenge starts on july 1st and ends the 31st. (this means you have some buffer days at the beginning, but it's crunch time that last week when you only get 6 days!)

3 // TELL YOUR FRIENDS! feel free to advertise this challenge to anyone // everyone! husband, boyfriend, sister, mother, cousin, boss, co-worker...Let's get after it!

4 // questions? send me an e-mail.

if this whole concept sounds familiar, you're right. erin from over at living in yellow does a fitness challenge of the same format that i've participated in twice now. it's super fun and super motivating so i super recommend participating in any challenge you can get your hands on.

let's get our fit-ass on! move our booty's! (and for me - eat less ice cream.)

ps. i created a little button that we can all throw on our sidebars or in a blog post should you feel like you want to share this little fitness challenge with everyone! just copy the HTML below into your blogpost or on your sidebar and if anyone clicks on it it will bring them to this blog post letting them know what the move your booty challenge is all about!

cheers to a bootylicious july!

my farmer is already on our second cutting of hay. (we get four, sometimes five cuttings each year.) this means he'll be running on about two to three hours of sleep a day for the next week or so. that man, he's amazing. when he's already put in 12 hours through the night, i like to take the girls out for a quick visit and ride in the tractor. they are always over the moon to see him. as soon as kaye spots a tractor she starts yelling, "daddy! daddy! i see him!" and when bitty lays eyes on him she kicks her legs, throws on an ear to ear smile, and starts drooling. yes...drooling.

thank you thank you to my farmer for all his hard work and lack of sleep. you provide the most wonderful life for your girls...all three of us.

4 | K A Y E - I S M S
my gal. my first. my kaye...she has been hysterical lately. i don't know where she gets half the stuff that comes out of her mouth these days.

(this sounds concerning, but it's actually quite funny because the whole bit happened because she got her horse stuck in her silo.)

kaye - oh no. i'm so sorry. it's all my fault. it's all my fault.

me - no honey. you don't have to be sorry. you didn't do anything wrong. you're a good girl.

kaye - it's all my fault. i'm so sorry.

(this one also sounds concerning, but again, it's funny.)

kaye - you hurt me, mommy.

me - kaye, i didn't touch you. i'm all the way over here.

kaye - you hurt me and my blueberry.

(all said in response of me dropping a blueberry on the floor five minutes prior.)

i don't know, but now that i'm reading those exchanges through, we might have a bit of a manipulator on our hands. wish us luck.

you bet. we're still on that bandwagon...although with the super crazy past couple of weeks we've had, i definitely relied on the store bought pouches, more so than i have been. the crazy couple of weeks carried over to my diet as well, or lack there of. after that half marathon i ran i gave myself a full FULL week off of limited workouts and indulged in ice cream a little lot more than i should have.

i'm not worried about it. that ice cream was good. so were the cookies. and the popcorn. and the ice cream.

but back to sawyer and making sure that muffin continues to grow her thighs and cheeks and wrist rolls...and the thighs are worth an additional mention.

i've been adding in more delicious foods to my gal's diet and girlfriend has yet to meat a blend she doesn't like.

new foods she's enjoyed: shredded chicken, turkey burger, hamburger, carrots, corn, broccoli, greek yogurt...

but here are a few blends she's particularly a fan of...

father's day | 2015

Monday, June 22, 2015

happy father's day to all the super radical dads out there who wrestle, cuddle, comfort, teach, love, show kindness, tenderness, and countless other qualities to their children.

my girls...well, they are so so fortunate to have our farmer in their lives. without our farmer they would be left with a high-strung mom who likes things clean.

thank god our farmer is laid-back, knows how to have a super-fun good time, and balances me darn-near perfectly.

opposites attract? you bet.

i hope my farmer had a wonderful father's day weekend. he deserved it.

on friday night i sent him on his way to the mountains to meet up with friends to go whitewater kayaking.

it's been well over a year since my farmer has been able to escape to go kayaking...farm-babies change things...

anyway...i hear he had a great time, but at the very least, i hope he enjoyed his time away from the farm.

my farmer turned kayaker made it back saturday night, which is good because amy and i had cooked up a little surprise for sunday morning for both our men.

amy and her three favorite boys headed over to our farm sunday morning for a pancake breakfast with eggs, bacon skewers, oj, and plenty of coffee.

after breakfast and an ample amount of chaotic play time for the kids we sent our farmers on a dirt bike ride. (another activity they don't really ever get to do.)

i like to think the gift in this activity is just not having to worry about anyone but themselves, right? that's pretty glorious.

so the boys left from our farm around 10 am and apparently rode all the way into oregon, down to nevada, and then back to idaho.

huh?

i'm pretty sure this doesn't sound like fun to amy and me. at least if i had a full day off from the kids, you would surely find me going for a leisurely run, then out to brunch, then to a massage, maybe a nap, throw in a little shopping, dinner, maybe a movie...that's a nice day off.

apparently that's not their cup of tea. so they rode their bikes over 150 miles from our farm and finished up at amy's farm where amy had grilled up a delicious dinner of chicken and veggie kabobs and a tri tip to make sure we got the necessary protein.

steak - so father's day-esque. very manly.

it was a very full day for all parties involved. i can't speak for amy, but i was exhausted, my children were exhausted, my farmer was exhausted. love that.

happy father's day to my farmer. you're the very very best and we love you so much.

oh hey, friday! | some good news, some bad news

Friday, June 19, 2015
oh hey...hey friday! you snuck right up on me this week. not mad about it...especially since this sunday is father's day!

we have plans for my farmer on sunday, but i hope he's able to spoil himself a little and take some time for just himself. he deserves it...he had both girls by himself while i went back to california on sunday. more on that in a few...

but now, we need to get your link-up on!

1 | grab this here snazzy summer-themed button and link back to september farm.
2 | link up your post at the bottom of this post.
3 | tell all your friends + have a fantastic friday.

1 | so...if you didn't know (which you probably didn't)...my sister was pregnant. but now she's not because she had the baby!!!! some details...

kelli and her husband rob didn't find out what they were having, so it was a complete surprise.
kelli hates any sort of attention, so i'm pretty sure she's told exactly four people she had a baby. so very celebrity of her.
SHE HAD A GIRL! seriously. a GIRL! you guys...i couldn't have been more thrilled with this news. you see - my younger sister also has a little girl, and now my older sister has a girl. we're just a girl family. it's what we do.

i'm beyond thrilled to present baby reese's very first online debut! kelli allowed me to snap these pictures and i'm just so in love with little reesey-poo-poo. yeah...i'm going to try to get kaye to call her that.
2 | let's keep this train going! last weekend i ran a half marathon in nearly 90 degree heat. i was dumping water on myself at every aid station and begged a man with a hose watering his yard to spray me.

in celebration of surviving the race...

50% off with the code - HALFMARATHON. check out your ad space options HERE.

3 | ummm...did we all see the new summer-themed oh hey, friday! button? you guys! it's so cute! don't forget to update your button, mmmmmk? we gotta stay hip and with it.
4 | RIP iPhone

great news everyone! i set up the gals' new swimming pool yesterday and i was so excited for them to try it out. it's so awesome. the girls love it. our little oasis on the farm.
i loved it too...until bitty decided to plunge face first into the water. naturally, i jumped into action. i threw my brand new iPhone 6 and rescued my baby.

i threw my phone directly into that stupid oasis. it went swimming. i hope it enjoyed it...because i didn't.

the phone is currently living in a bag of rice until i feel like i can risk turning it back on. online says to wait 36 hours...so i have a bit to go. wish us luck.

5 | THE 4TH OF JULY!

yes...it's right around the corner! not only is the 4th my sister's birthday, but i have a feeling this year is going to be a good one now that kaye is getting bigger. love it.

here are a few pins i have on my radar...

sponsor post | the new mrs. + lilly pulitzer giveaway!

Thursday, June 18, 2015
hey thursday...you just got a little bit better and i like that about you.

know why?

we get to have christina from The New Mrs. here today. i don't think it's a secret...i loooove sharing awesome new bloggers with you all...and christina is it.

not only is she a suuuuper fun writer, but she has great style, fun ideas, she's pretty...and maybe most importantly...she's brought a LILY PULITZER giveaway with her here today. YAY!

(idaho girls - go ahead and scratch your heads. i know we're still trying to figure out who this lily gal is.)

KARLI | let’s just get the awkward out of the way…let’s be friends! you live in the philadelphia suburbs…i nannied in the philadelphia suburbs. it was meant to be!

i’ll tell you my favorite thing about philadelphia if you tell me yours! ready…go.

CHRISTINA | What a fun coincidence - too bad you don't still live around here! Do I have to pick just one?! I love the historic/touristy side, all the sporting events, the waterfront area and of course all the great restaurants and food to indulge in.  I love a fun night out in the city and especially a staycation every now and then.
KARLI | Enough about that. let’s talk about how i nod my head with every post you write. you have great taste. you know how to have fun. you have great friends.

give your advice on how to live such a fulfilled life?

CHRISTINA | Thank you, thank you.  I am a full believer in life is what you make it.  You have to take advantage of opportunities, maybe partake in a little planning (it's hard to get in everything you want to do without some thinking ahead), and always make sure you're taking steps that make yourself happy.  Recently I've been working on finding the perfect balance between low-key and getting in all the fun things I want to do - finding a happy medium is the most fulfilling of all!

KARLI | Moving onto the important details

how’d you meat that hunk of yours? top three things about him.

CHRISTINA | The husband pops up in blog posts very frequently but he also frequents the blog quite often.  He's definitely one of the top supporters and is always sharing his thoughts on my posts each day.  Enough about that though - here's how we met.. while attending college in Rhode Island during the spring of my freshman year, he was older ;) It was love at first sight (truthfully!) but we never seriously dated in college.  We found our way back to each other about a year after we had both left the New England area and went on our first official date about four years after we first met.  Now seven years later, we will have been married for one year this upcoming September.

Top three things about him - his personality, his thoughtfulness and I'd be lying if I left out his looks. :)
KARLI | yeah, you would be lying. what a fine looking couple! no seriously...you guys are gorgeous. your dress! is it weird i want to try it on? yes.

when people visit the new mrs. what are some first things you hope they notice?

CHRISTINA | I hope they see my fun and bright personality, positive outlook and a huge love for family and friends.  My puppy, Stella makes plenty of appearances too.
For the fun stuff there is a combination of everyday life as well as our traveling adventures.  Many Entertaining tips, new recipes, marriage topics and a little bit of fashion.  We're still finishing up decorating our newly built home so lots of home posts too.  Basically a little mix of everything.
KARLI | see...your blog is so fun and i love the time and thoughtfulness of your posts. they really are refreshing to read. but will you please stop posting cute summer dresses? i'm trying to NOT spend money right now and that's not helping. anyway...

my favorite question - if you could be on a cast of The Real Housewives...which city would you do?

me? orange county. i think vicki and i could work on out-bitching each other.

CHRISTINA | This is a fabulous one.  I think I'd go with Beverly Hills - those ladies are always lunching, sipping wine, shopping, vacationing to name a few.  Okay, well I guess all the cities are doing that but everything just seems more glamorous in Beverly Hills.  I'd love to get inside those ladies' closets and casually chat with Lisa to listen to her accent. Now I'll spend the rest of the day dreaming up my opening credits intro line…
KARLI | yessss! the opening credits line! mine would be...

i may live on a farm, but i can still be bitchy.

okay...that makes absolutely no sense. i'll have to dream up my opening credits line too.

what’s your #1 piece of blogging advice?

CHRISTINA | Do it for yourself.  I kept my blog private for about a year, partly because I wanted it for no other reason than a scrapbook and party because I didn't think anyone other than my family would read! I don't try to keep up with anyone or take it too seriously, I just like to write what comes to my mind, use my little space to keep track of my favorite moments of life and have fun!

KARLI | do you have a most favorite post you’ve written? or perhaps a most popular post?

CHRISTINA | My favorite posts to write about as well (as well as read about on other blogs) are traveling posts! My most favorite so far was probably sharing our honeymoon in Bora Bora.

My most popular post was when I shared the details of my office in our new home. During the building process, we planned to have our color scheme as all neutrals… except the office.  I had one room to get in all the feminine touches I wanted!

KARLI | girl...that office. i adore. how fun to have your own super girly space! i channeled all my girly-girl into the girls' rooms. my poor farmer.  anyway...i can't thank christina enough for being on the blog today! i'm so so so not pulling your leg when i say...GO CHECK HER OUT! you'll love her. i promise.  first...read the details for the giveaway, then go check her out.

take it away, christina...
