farm food | one fine pie crust

Wednesday, November 26, 2014
here is how i feel about pie crusts. yes...of course you can buy a perfectly delicious crust at the store and save yourself a little time and your arm a little workout.

but that's just not how i roll. i'm a big believer that if you're going to have an intake of pie-calories, they may as well be from the very most delicious pie crust.

with thanksgiving tomorrow, you can feel free to whip up a pie or two, knowing the end result is going to be amazing because this crust is:

simple.
full of glorious butter.
worth it.

you can thank me later.

FARM FOOD | PIE CRUST

yields 2 crusts

(for this post i doubled the following recipe so i had enough for one apple and two pumpkin pies)
1 | gather your five ingredients:
  • 2 1/2 c flour
  • 2 sticks salted butter (straight from the fridge)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 c very cold water
2 | combine the flour, sugar, and salt...that's simple.

3 | cube your butter into small 1/2 inch cubes

4 | once all your butter has been cubed, add it to your dry mixture and begin cutting the butter into the mixture with a pastry cutter or fork. (if you're using a fork, god bless you...you're going to be there awhile.)
you'll know you're done cutting the butter into the mixture when it's the size of small peas.
see...it's all cut, but you can still see the butter chunks. this is good because when you bake your pie, the butter will melt into the crust and it will also be deliciously flakey.
5 | now that the butter is cut add 1/2 cup of the super cold water so you can begin to glue the dough together.

keep drizzling water by 1 tbsp at a time until the dough is tacky enough to combine into a ball. you'll probably end up adding an additional 1/4 - 1/2 cup.

you're probably going to feel like it's not sticky enough to hold. it is, trust me. also, try not to handle the dough too much as the heat from your hands will melt that butter! you do not want to melt that butter.

6 |  now that your dough is completely combined, take it and divide it into two equal parts...or in my case, four.
7 | once you've divided your dough, wrap them individually in plastic wrap and chill for at least an hour before you roll it out.
now go pick your favorite filling and get to work!

also, be prepared for your friends and family to oooo and ahhh over your baking prowess.

SAWYER | ONE MONTH

Tuesday, November 25, 2014

sawyer-muffin. how did you get to one month old already? i'm finally experiencing that sensation moms talk about when they say, they grow up too fast!

i in no way thought this during kaye's infancy. time dragged. i blame it on the epic life-shift our world had just taken.

but you, sawyer-bear, are growing up way too fast. maybe it's because you're the sweetest muffin alive? maybe it's because i'm chasing your sister around and in a blink it's time to start dinner?

whatever it is...i wish i could keep you a newborn just a little longer. like...an extra few weeks. but that's just not going to happen because, girlfriend, in just the past two days you've traded your hours and hours of sleeping for your little personality. a personality that's full of arm-flailing, squeaks, grunts, and observation.

seriously, you're quite the observant little bear. you really like to watch your sister and me play on the floor, and you don't mind when things get a little wild and loud.

speaking of loud...your turtle-sister loves you a lot. lots of kisses. lots of pat-pats. and she's always asking to give you hugs. yesterday she finally called herself sister. we've been working on that one for just shy of a year now. sheesh. maybe that was kaye's final acceptance that you're here to stay...a permanent fixture in our family of four.

muffy-muff - we're beyond smitten with all your cuteness and sweetness.

SAWYER | 1 MONTH

nicknames | sweets, muffin-bear, sawyer-muffin, muffy-muffs...and most other combinations of those words.

weight | according to our scientific process called the at-home scale...you're just shy of 9 1/2 pounds, up from 6 lbs. 3 oz. at birth. solid performance my love.

sleep | you start your day around 5:30 - 6 am for nursing and have been staying awake until around 7 am. this is perfect because that's when kaye wakes up. i'm able to get her dressed, breakfast made, and spend a little time with her before you're ready to eat again. you definitely have a little schedule worked out and take three naps a day that last at least an hour. you are ready for bed around 8 pm and wake again between 11 pm - 12 am for your first snack of the night. you wake again around 3 am, and then we're back at 6 am, ready to start the day.

eats | you're a nursing machine, but a snacker...which is not super ideal, so we'll work on it this month. basically, you like to eat every two hours for a very short period of time. so i give you a 10 minute break and then nurse you again, and sometimes have to give you another little break and nurse you again. it's a long process. but, we're getting it done.

speaking of eats, i've been able to get my pump on and a nice little stockpile has started. i see some kid-free outings for me in the near future!

loves | you love to be carried, and i love carrying you. you love napping on your farmer's chest...and it really is the sweetest. you enjoy being wrapped loosely in your blankie for sleeping, but not swaddled.

dislikes | at one month, you're definitely not picky. the only dislike i've observed is when you have bubbles in your tummy and need to be burped, but even then you seem to only be mildly annoyed. once i burp you, you're perfectly content.

speaking of burping - this is something your sister never needed. it's been so fun noticing all the differences between the two of you.
sawyer-muff...i'm so happy you're here and have made the past month so enjoyable. you make your farmer, sister, and me smile every day.

now grow just a little so we can start dressing you in all your super cute hand-me-down clothes.

nursing essentials | bras + tanks...according to moi

Monday, November 24, 2014
here's what i know:
  1. nursing can be balls hard. if you're wondering how hard that is...it's hard.
  2. it can be the most convenient thing in the world...and the most inconvenient.
  3. those first two weeks...the hospital should send you home with a leather strap to bite down on as you try to establish a good nursing position for you and your babe.
  4. nursing can be super, amazingly rewarding and ridiculously special...except for when you have a two year old who throws fits every time you sit down to nurse. then it can be epically stressful.
  5. and lastly...i now know some ridiculously awesome products that have made nursing sawyer that much easier and less painful and more comfortable...for my tas. today i'm going to discuss nursing attire...
ONE | let's start with my new favorite brand - CAKE
source
i bought this wireless bra for sleeping, but i'm quickly realizing i'll be wearing it several times a week...which is why i went back for a second. i bought a medium the first time, which is great for my cup size, but not so great for my band size. it's too big. so the second bra i ordered is a small and offers that much more support. love love it.
source

next on the shopping list - some shaping tanks that were nursing friendly. thank you CAKE, again, for providing an amazingly comfortable, long enough to wear with leggings, nursing tank. love love love. i don't wear this one to bed, but it's wonderful under all my tops.

the final CAKE product that i've ordered, but have yet to try on is this underwire nursing bra. i previously ordered a freya and an anita to try on, but both were disappointments. they seemed flimsy for the support that i would need...which is weird because they are so expensive! they'll be going back. regardless...i'm jazzed to get the CAKE bra and try it out.
source

i mean...it's not the prettiest bra, but when we're dealing with a 34 DDD...the odds are not in my favor. and at this point...i just want it to feel good and look good under clothing, because lawd knows i don't need it to look good with my shirt off...but that's a whole different story.

and lastly...i was a little nervous about this tank because it just looked so funky. i mean...it has a flap that covers your tas that you lift up...but then your mid-section is still covered.
source
see the disconnected fabric? yep. you just lift that right up to expose the nursing bra of your choice. which is why i think this tank is particularly nice. you can wear your favorite bra and still have the convenience of support and keeping your shirt down. winning!

that's where i stand as far as nursing attire goes. so far i'm really happy with the goodies i've decided to keep! now i need to go return $200 worth of bras. i thought nursing was supposed to be economical?

oh hey, friday! | a thankful farmer's wife

Friday, November 21, 2014
first order of bizz...since next thursday is thanksgiving, i predict we'll all be in some sort of pumpkin pie coma, so let's not worry about writing an oh hey, friday! post. i'm feeling generous and i'm going to give us all a day off. thank me next friday.
secondly...in the spirit of thanksgiving (even though half of my christmas decorations have made an appearance) todays post is going to be all about some of the things i'm thankful for...some obvious, and some not so obvious.
but first...
  • write up a little post about five things. anythings
  • head back over here and enter your link at the bottom of this post.
  • and pretty please don't forget to link back to our blogs and/or add the oh hey, friday! button (found just above) by copying the HTML into the HTML section of your post  so that others can link up as well! that's it. now get busy.
with that...

MY FIVE

1 | FOOD AT MY FINGERTIPS

i can't tell you how many times i've asked my farmer if it was time to get a new fridge. and by asked i mean begged. it's on my wish list every birthday, mother's day, and christmas. (seriously...can we get a new fridge?) i ask for a new fridge because our fridge is too small. first world problems over here. but when i step back and look at my argument for getting a new fridge - we have too much food so obviously we need a bigger fridge...i realize how silly that sounds.

really what i'm saying is i'm so so thankful that we have food in our pantry, fridge, and extra freezer. i'm able to give my turtle snacks and never wonder how i'm going to provide a meal - it's truly something to be thankful for. (i still want a new fridge, though.)

2 | MY FARMER
i've said it once...i've said it at least a dozen times. that farmer of mine is a catch...and everyone knows it. seriously...people have asked me how i got so lucky to nab him. my response? i worked very very very hard. lots of persistence. lots of patience. and then that one time i freaked out on him, broke up with him, cried a lot, and then said "just joking! let's get back together!"

regardless, the girls and me are so very very thankful to call him ours. he works so incredibly hard for us and still manages to make us a priority even with all he has on his plate. that farmer...one of a kind.

3 | AMAZON PRIME + UPS MAN

thank you amazon prime and our wonderful wonderful UPS delivery man for making living an hour from the city a little easier. running low on diapers? amazon prime. stripy straws for your gals birthday party? amazon prime. frye boots? turtle shaped swimming pool? doughnut baking mold? amazon, amazon, amazon. thank you amazon (and the poor ups man who has to drive to our farm at least two days a week).

4 | MY GALS

every single day since sawyer was born i can't even believe i'm the mom of two perfect girls. i mean...how did i get so lucky?
kaye is wild and funny and sweet and sassy. she challenges me every single day, but i know that strong-willed nature, while super challenging now, will serve her well when she's older.
my sweet sweet sawyer. she is undeniably beautiful and she absolutely has my heart...and her farmer's heart too. i'm surprised every day at how kind and soft kaye is with her. kaye is not kind or soft with anything. do i dare say our sawyer is showing signs of a sweet nature? she's calm. she's relaxed. and i'm shocked at just how different she is from newborn kaye.

my best gals. so very very thankful.

5 | DVR + DIRECT TV

the shame. so much shame, but i admit it. the amount of time i've logged in front of the tv these past 3.5 weeks makes me exceptionally thankful for our dvr and direct tv, especially in the middle of the night. it really is the very best time to watch snookie and jwoww. i only speak the truth.

speaking of truth...have you heard of the show chrisley knows best? this show is funny and you should dvr it. see...i'm a truth-speaker.

yes...even some of us are thankful for UPS and DVR. no shame in my game.

(and #6! i'm super thankful for all you fine fine gals who read September FARM. i absolutely love this space to share my stories...and your stories too! should you want to get in on some September FARM action, use the code THANKFUL for 40% off any ad space! check out my ad spaces HERE.)

now go get yourself all linked up...it's the thankful thing to do, or something like that.

sponsor post | kiersten @ she is fierce

Thursday, November 20, 2014
so...this morning stephanie, from stephanie mballo photography, sent over our family session pictures and dare i say...she's done it again. that girl...how does she manage to capture the sweetest shots of kaye when she's at her very very very worst? (did i mention kaye was a monster?)

however...i was on my very very most patient behavior and i literally look like a beast. my eyes are tired. wrinkles everywhere. my gut is pooching out in a few...

will someone please remind me next year to actually PLAN our outfits so they are somewhat cohesive.

i mean...i know i'm my own worst critic, but i feel bad that i didn't give stephanie more to work with. regardless...she brought the heat, again.

but family pictures is soooooo not what i'm here to chat about today. (even though i'm totally obsessed and wish i could lock myself in a room and just play around with them all. day. long. but there's that whole bit about me having two kids to tend to and all...guh. priorities. lame.)

as i was saying...i have the stunning kiersten on the blog today! she writes over at she is fierce...which is totally something i've never used to describe myself. but kiersten...she IS fierce, and did i mention stunning?

to be a natural beauty...what that must be like? *sigh*

not only that, but girlfriend gets it done when it comes to flexing her creative muscles.

she's no slouch when it comes to photography...and shares her tips with us all.

she has an entire blogging category dedicated to inspiration. and let's be real here...we can all use a little inspiration from time to time. so thank you, kiersten, for that!

speaking of her creative talents, you can totally tap into her abilities should you need some copy written yourself! and let's face it...sometimes it's hard to come up with the right words...which is when it's nice to have talented gals like kiersten. but seriously, in her own words...

do you need brilliant copy, or an inviting about me for your website? what about a great article for your magazine, or a newsletter to tell customers about your newest products or services?

if that peaks your interest - hire kiersten!

but most importantly, maybe you're just looking for another thoughtful blogger to follow along, and i can promise you...you won't be disappointed in kiersten.

she writes about if she had a daughter...

and quite possibly my favorite post of hers - why "i don't want kids" is not your cue to say "yes you do."

which i'm 100% guilty of. (sorry gina. forgive me?)

or maybe you're just looking for some more blogging pointers. read this -

and to top it all off...it's clear kiersten is all about the f-word. and why shouldn't she be? she's fierce.

plus she has a category all about feminism as well as a linkup!

want to get in on the linkup love? the next f-word linkup is on thursday, december 4th. the topic is sexism in the media. share the f-word love, gals.

eff yeah.

to round things out, get some more of she is fierce in all her social media glory!

lastly - are you looking to flex your blogging muscles and need a new gal to sponsor? well, kiersten is most definitely offering September FARM readers a 10% discount off all her ad spots using the code SEPTEMBERFARM. check out your options HERE!

thank you so so much kiersten for making September FARM fierce for the day!

friendly reminder to the rest of you - oh hey, friday! is tomorrow! get your posts ready...or just come check it out. i'll be giving some sneak peaks at that family photo sesh we had a few weeks ago!

post-preg | three weeks out

Tuesday, November 18, 2014
THREE WEEKS OUT

RECOVERY | ain't no thang, y'all. i'm fully recovered and feelin' fiiiiine...minus the intense sleep deprivation.

now i have zero excuse to not play horsey with kaye, or polish my hardwood floors on my hands and knees, or start paying closer attention to my personal hygiene. guh...who wants to deal with personal hygiene when there is unlimited garbage to watch on tv?

SLEEP | hit and miss, hit and miss. some nights girlfriend wants to nurse hourly and sometimes i have a hard time keeping her awake enough to get the job done.

the hard part is not waking up night after night providing for miss muffin. the hard part is trying to be quasi-functional the next day and still provide the patience my turtle deserves.

so with the lack of sleep and my patience shot...guess who gets my bad attitude? that hard-working farmer of mine. poor farmer.

but of course, there is a light at the end of the sleep-deprived tunnel. if sawyer is anything like her sister, we'll have her sleeping through the night here in a few months, napping like a champion in a few more months...and everyone will be ship shape and the dark circles under my eyes will be a distant memory.

NURSING | let's talk about nursing attire. i fully plan on dedicating an entire post the difficulty of finding a nice, complimentary nursing bra for a gal with giant tas (don't get me started). in the same breath i can't wait to share the GLORIOUS goodies i ordered from nordstrom. they put my poor target sleeping/nursing bras to shame. shame, i say.

as far as sawyer is concerned, i'm still nursing her on demand. this means she sometimes nurses every hour and sometimes every three. i'm giving her a few more weeks for her to figure out a more consistent schedule. if she doesn't manage that on her own, i will be gently helping her. and by gently i mean i will get her on a schedule that will fit nicely with her napping schedule.

can you tell i enjoy schedules?

i continue to obsess over my healthy boob watch. it will surely kill me if i have to deal with what i went through with kaye. (you can read about my troubles nursing kaye here and here.)

THE BOD | i thought long and hard and long and hard about this topic. should i post a post-preg bod picture?

sure. why not? i may even be able to muster up some motivation to take action on what i talk about in the workout section below.
at three weeks out i weigh exactly what i weighed before i got pregnant. 136 pounds. 136 pounds of squishy. and while i'm thankful that my pre-pregnancy clothing fits, i'm a far cry from "let's book a vay-cay to hawaii!"

i really want to focus  on that pooch and firming up all the jiggle. and trust me...i've learned that only running will not address this. i'm going to have to get serious about what i put in my mouth and core exercises.

so...what core exercises kick your boo-tay? tell me your faves.

WORKOUTS | starting sometime this week i have high hopes getting my workouts started. i'm under no illusion that i'll probably only be able to squeeze in 30 minutes here and a few miles there, but it's going to feel great to start feeling stronger again.

also, i can honestly say i haven't worked on my core since before i was pregnant with kaye. friends...this did not leave me with a middle to be proud of. and i'm nearly positive the frosting/nutella/ice cream binges did not help anything.

i'm going to go pound-town some water...hydration is like practically a workout in and of itself.

SAWYER HIGHLIGHTS | umm...you would not believe how much she has grown. girlfriend weighed in at a petite 6 pounds 3 ounces at birth. she now weighs 8 pounds 6 ounces, and i swear she's grown a few inches. her long eyelashes are starting to darken and i so so hope she takes after he sister in that department. turtle-gal has the longest, thickest lashes.
other notable highlights - she's found her cry-voice. lord help me.

KAYE HIGHLIGHTS | girlfriend continues to be such a good big sister. and by good big sister i mean she's only tried to land on sawyer's face once. kaye...she's quite spirited.

more highlights? kaye's language has gone crazy as of late. she's finally started linking words together and yammers on and on and on. sometimes i just say enthusiastically, "YES! WOW!" and that seems to appease her.

but most of the time i really try to understand what she's saying. i'd say between farmer and me, we understand her about 62.5% of the time. toddler-speak is hard.

i also believe this has a direct correlation with her fit throwing (obviously). the more we understand her, the fewer fits we're seeing, and i can't tell you how pleased this makes me.

LOW POINT | whomp whomp. corn harvest started so i had to say so long to the very best daddy/turtle-sitter ever.

as i said last week, he's been taking kaye every day and it was amazing. kaye loves her farmer and when he would bring her home at the end of the day she was always in the very best mood.

but now my farmer is logging millions of hours a day in the combine...so it's just the girls and me at the house...because lord knows i'm not brave enough to take them both out in public by myself. that sounds beyond terrifying.

we did manage to go visit our farmer in the combine, though. clearly one of us was underwhelmed.

three weeks. boom.

just in time for christmas...that monthly group giveaway

Monday, November 17, 2014
true to form...some lady-ladies and i are back this fine monday morning to offer you some sweet sweet mula and a personalized clutch from monkeyseeboutique!

and you know what? i think you should thank us for such a fantastic opportunity! know why?

maybe you didn't realize christmas is about five (FIVE!!!!) weeks away. (gasp!)

you better believe i've had to talk myself out of bringing the christmas decorations inside more than once, twice...more than several times. especially when i scroll through instagram and i see people are embracing putting up their christmas tree already. i would be that person, but surely my farmer would harass me until next christmas.

speaking of trees...i'm having an internal debate to go real or faux. i've never ever ever had a fake tree. but maybe it's time to embrace the convenience?

no needles all over my floor, no fire hazard, no watering, no annoying tree stand...plus the faux tree i'm eyeballing has LED lights on it already. that's a win, right?

please cast your vote in the comments - realzies or fakesies?

but obviously we should get back to the giveaway, now.

we wish you the very best of luck as you try to win yourself some christmas cash!

(and don't forget to show each of these gal-faces some love while you're at it.)

oh hey, friday! | five blogging tips

Friday, November 14, 2014
you've probably been wondering why i haven't shared my blogging genius before. well...want no longer. i have my five hottest tips to make your blog that much better.
  1. i'm not a blogging genius.
  2. i just really like blogging.
  3. they aren't really hot tips.
  4. but the tips really will help your blog...i think.
but first...

MY FIVE

1 | RESIZE YOUR PHOTOS

you want your blog to read nicely and look great, right? you'll be doing yourself a huge favor if your photos are centered and they are all the same width. oh, and while you're at it, make sure the pixel size isn't gi-normous or else your photos will take forever to load.

i didn't even know this was a possibility until amy was like, "yeah dummy." and i was like, "i'm a dummy." that's typically how our conversations go. either that or she's giving me medical advice...she's practically a doctor.

also, small pictures suck. what's the point of having a blog except to show off some rad pics, right? so no more small pictures. make 'em biggish. like this...
except go ahead and pick a better picture.

2 | CONTENT VARIETY

me? failing. all i want to write about is my sawyer-muffin and my kaye-turtle. and while i'm sure everyone enjoys reading about how kaye ruined family pictures or the amount of hours sawyer sleeps in a day (said no one ever), sometimes it's good to mix the blogging content up.
have a new great recipe to share? take a few pics and throw it on the blog.

did you buy new boots and magically they go with every outfit? take a few pics and throw it on the blog.

boom - content variety.

3 | GET FAMILIAR WITH BASIC HTML

if you know some basic HTML you'll be able to do all sorts of fun (i think it's fun) stuff with your blog - advertising, blog layout, button design, etc.

google can teach you anything, so if you have a question that should be your first stop.

4 | ADVERTISING + OFFERING SPONSORSHIP

i get asked about this at least once a week...how did i get started in offering sponsorships?

weeellll...it's probably not an answer you're going to love. but it's an answer we've all heard before:

you have to spend money to make money.

i literally had told myself at the beginning of blogging that i wasn't going to pay for ad spots and i wasn't going to pay for someone to design my blog.

three years later i'm here to tell you that not only does paying for ad spots on other blogs help your blog grow quickly and build your readership, but in the process you get to meet some really fantastic bloggers that you probably wouldn't have come across...and they never would have found your blog either. that's just how it goes.

then, once i had a solid readership (ie. at least 500 pageviews a day and 500+ subscribers via bloglovin') i knew it was a good time to start offering ad spots so i could feature other great bloggers!

i did some research and knew paying for a passionfruit membership was the way to go to handle my ad spaces. i also checked out other similar sized blogs to see how much i should charge per ad space.

i also knew i couldn't be complacent in advertising on other, bigger blogs...so i continue to put my button out there. it's part of the blogging hustle...or something like that.

5 | BLOG DESIGN
i'm all about the blog design. if you have a clean, organized pleasing to the eye design...i'm MUCH more likely to stick around long enough to read your content.

this doesn't mean your space still can't reflect your own personal style, it just helps a whole heap if everything looks like it was laid out in a thoughtful way...know what i mean?

you can pay a chunk of change for a custom blog design or not a lot at all for a pre-made design. i just popped over to etsy and typed in "blogger theme" and loads of options popped up for right around $30.

sounds good to me!

(and #6...link up. always link up if you want to have a super radical blog. i link up here, obviously, and always with the 5 on friday gals!)

jewelry + shop discount + giveaway from jenny @ a hole in her stocking

Thursday, November 13, 2014
no big deal today guys. i just get to share with you (for the THIRD time) an awesome gal with an awesome blog who's been here two times before.

except this time we get to check out her etsy shop - hole in her stocking designs.

but as a refresher...you may remember the first time she was on the blog when she told us all about her experience photographing a family...and the dad's, ummm, family jewels were on display.

oh, you don't remember that post? you should read it.

then there was the second time she was on the blog where we had a fun q + a sesh. that's when she spilled more awesome moments where she talks about verbal altercations with b*tches and doing makeup for famous people.

basically, what i'm saying, we are so so lucky to have jenny from dancin' with a dolly and a hole in her stocking designs BACK on September FARM!

i had the chance to chat with jenny about her shop with all her lovely goodies and i'm thrilled to share!

when it comes to gals like jenny, i always get super curious as to how they find the time and motivation to not only write a blog, but on top of that take their dream and turn it into a reality.

jenny has done just that! girlfriend has always loved making jewelry and would take her goodies to craft fairs and get her sell on. then the magical world of etsy happened, so she knew she had to capitalize on the opportunity of online sales. however, jenny has bigger plans above and beyond the craft fairs and the etsy shop. jenny wants to use the money she earns from her etsy shop to one day open her very own brick and mortar store! can't blame her for that...and i'm full of admiration! if i had any sort of creative talent you KNOW i'd be all over trying to start my own bizz. but, that's just not in the cards for some of us. but for jenny...yes. girlfriend has some skill.

i also asked jenny to share her favorite pieces with us, and like any good, unbiased mother (who doesn't love one child more than the other) she explained that each of her pieces comes from her creative genius (my words, not hers)...and it's hard for her to pick because she loves them all! but...gun to her head, she loves...
dainty mermaid boho wrap bracelet
but her ultimate favorite (at the moment) is...

we're back today with more ideas of how to spend $1,000,000 in a weekend.

i wonder if we posed the same question to men how their answers would differ? (i'm pretty sure my farmer would laugh and say something like, "i'd pay off some of our land." or "i'd buy a couple of tractors."

heaven forbid he spend part of that million on a nice dinner date for us...sheesh.

but for now we can steal our ideas from four fantastic ladies featured on the blog today.

once you finish having a looky-lou at them, get yourself entered to win a starbucks gift card (hello venti, whole milk latte!) and a shop credit to sometimes sweet studio!

THE RESPONSIBLE WOMAN IN ME WOULD INVEST IT IN SEVERAL DIFFERENT, DIVERSIFIED ACCOUNTS SO THAT HUBS AND I COULD RETIRE EARLIER AND MAXIMIZE RETURNS. YEAH, SERIOUSLY. I'M THAT GIRL.

BUT THAT'S NOT VERY INTERESTING, IS IT? SO...I GUESS I'D GO ALL "BELOW DECK" ON THAT MILLION BUCKS AND CHARTER A BOAT FOR A FEW FRIENDS AND MYSELF, SPENDING THE TIME CONSUMING BOTTLES OF DOM AND SOAKING UP THE SUN. THE CREW WOULD DEFINITELY HAVE TO THROW US A BEACH PARTY, AND KEEP THE COCKTAILS FLOWING INTO THE WEE HOURS. WHEN WE GOT SICK OF THE BOAT, WE'D CRUISE TO LAND AND BLOW ANY REMAINING FUNDS ON HIGH-TICKET ITEMS, MAKING FRIENDS WITH LOUIS AND CHANEL. OKAY, THIS SOUNDS WAY BETTER THAN MY ORIGINAL INVESTING PLAN!

AND NOW, THE GIVEAWAY...
