sunday fun day: goals...a noble thought

Monday, April 30, 2012

with the way the past few weeks have gone with the old goal-setting maybe i should just set one goal and then feel really good about accomplishing that one goal instead of setting three goals and accomplishing 1/3. that is certainly not fun.

what could i possibly be so busy with that i can't sit on the floor for 10 minutes a night and do a few crunches. do you want to know what i'm busy with? two things:

1. doing an AMAZING GIVEAWAY TO POTTERY BARN! have you entered? if not, CLICK HERE!

2. obviously i've been watching the RHNJ. seriously. have you been watching? whoa mama! love love love.

1. i love the make-up.
2. i love the clothing.
3. i love the clashing.

1. i could never pull off make-up like that.
2. i've never dressed myself in animal print.
3. i can get mouthy. i bet i'd hold my own. ahhhh snap.

this week, in honor of my ladies, let's do a new jersey tribute:

1. i'm totally going to workout/run so i can get a serious bootay like some of those women. boom. this will include a minimum of three days of running for at least 40 minutes. boom. and i'll definitely work my arms so they can look like teresa's. the lady is cut. boom.

2. i'll go ahead and make dinner for the farmer in full new jersey gear. dress, super high high heels, and full make-up. there won't be a headband or cardigan in sight. (have i mentioned my farmer loathes headbands and cardigans? another story for another day.)

3. try to consistently speak in a new jersey accent.

get some goals going for your week people. AND TELL ME ABOUT THEM! sometimes hearing other's goals can spark some inspiration.

happy week, people. and don't forget to come back on wednesday to see if you won the giveaway!

AND if you haven't entered the giveaway do so now, if not sooner! click HERE!

high five for friday

Friday, April 27, 2012
it's friday. it's windy. but it's friday. i feel good about that.

and another thing: it's friday. hip hip!

what am i loving about this week? let me just tell you:

1. rita's water ice. if you're from philadelphia you'll pronounce it wudder ice. okay? this glorious thing was introduced to me when i was a nanny (during my college days) for a GLORIOUS family (that i think about all the time! hello white family!) in new town, PA. (a little suburb outside of phili.) anyway, the white's would take me to get rita's and as soon as that custard and water ice hit the mouth...i knew i was in heaven. we don't have water ice on the farm...or in idaho. but galveston, TX had water ice. yes. they. did. high five!

2.  major league baseball games, beer, and footlong hotdogs. my farmer was in heaven at his first major league baseball game. although...i think he liked the beer more than the game. high five.

3. POTTERY BARN GIFT CARD GIVEAWAYS! $50 smack-a-roos. high five to that. i wish i could enter. do you want to enter? click HERE.

4. high five for a new running outfit. they'll call me black mamba out there. and while that tank makes me look like a men's runner from the 80's, it's very lightweight and perfect for a lunchtime run when the sun is high. up top!

and lastly...

5. a huge, stinkin' high five to my employer who not only lets me work from home, but also let's us all off at 1pm CST every single, stinkin' friday.

sunday fun day: GOALS REPORT

Sunday, April 22, 2012
not taken in texas. sawtooth's of idaho in the background.
hey y'all. we're still in tex-ass. and in tex-ass you say y'all, y'all. i have some goals to report. let's get right to it.

1. last week i started up my goal-setting again and it went...medium. my first goal was to run three times for at least 30 minutes. NAILED IT. i'm not going to say it didn't hurt. it did. but one of the days farmer ran with me and we chatted like gossipy girlfriends. it was a gas. okay, we didn't chat like girlfriends. i yelled at him a few times for throwing off my pace. i yelled at him for the weather being too hot. i yelled at him for not carrying any water for me. farmer is a saint.

2. BBQ! yay! i just love it. grillin' is fun. clean-up is a snap. the food is delish. unfortunately when i set the "grill three nights" goal i totally spaced that we were leaving in the middle of the week for the lone star state. so i got two nights of grillin' in and i helped the lovely nicole prepare for the crawfish feed on saturday. i call it a WIN!

3. 80 oz. epic fail.

bring on the new goals!

with the sawtooth relay being RIGHT around the corner i'm feeling like working out is going to need to become a top priority for these warmer months. in addition, we wear less clothes = more skin shows. me thinks i want that skin to look decent. right? right. so this weeks goals are going to be all about fit-ass.

1. run at least three times this week for 35 minutes. ugh. 30 minutes was hard. but in training for the sawtooth relay i'm going to HAVE to increase the mileage.

2. 25 push-ups a day. this can be a combination of girly-style or man. either way...the old pythons need a little shape-up.

3. crunches. i have had a serious hiatus from any sort of ab activity. the old waistline isn't getting any smaller. 250 crunch-ish type things every day of the week...that's the prescription.

running. push-ups. crunches. i've got this.

maybe try setting some little goals for your week. it's crazy how much you think about them throughout the week. it really does motivate me to work towards them consistently.

high five friday for tex-ass

Friday, April 20, 2012
oh hey texas! i like you more than i thought i would. as a matter-o-fact: your weather is great, it smells real REAL good, and the people we're visiting aren't half bad.

so let's give some high-fives today, how about it?!

1. high five to texas for surpassing expectations. thanks tex.

2. sweet mother how i've missed my boots. but obviously since we're in texas i'll be sporting these guys with my short shorts. so high five to cowboy boots...and short shorts...and my first sunburn.

3. oh, i'm sorry. did you think i wasn't going to post this again? wrong. you can count on seeing it at least a dozen or so more times. high freaking five for speedos...on farmers...who drink beer. and high five to family members who have pools in their backyards.

picture taken right off google images. i take zero credit.
4. high five for friday night baseball games. we'll be visiting the astros tonight!

5. high five for my bikini not fitting anymore. and no, it's not too big. high five for sarcasm.

happy friday and weekend y'all!

it's hot in texas

Thursday, April 19, 2012
we're in tex-ass! yes-sir-ee. where the houses are big but the hats are even bigger.

the farmer and i ventured off the farm, hopped a plane and arrived yesterday. we are here to visit farmer's cousin, pete and his lov-er-ly wife, nicole. we call pete "big oil." he works for haliburton. they go hand in hand.

and just so y'all know...it's HOT in texas. H.O.T. but guess who made it just a little hotter?

my farmer. enjoy.

is it okay to put a disclaimer at the bottom of a post? yes? okay.

DISCLAIMER: the content in this post may be offensive, lude, speedo-rific, and ooze with hotness. you've been warned.

sunday fun day is back...one day late

Monday, April 16, 2012
seriously, harder than it looks

well people. i'm a little wheezy. slightly asthmatic. mildly dizzy, achy, and complainy.

what does this all add up to? i ran for 30 minutes. it's my third time in three weeks. i'm averaging just over three miles a week. people call me a math whiz. i call me...lazy.

the wind on the farm has decreased to an average of 20 mph at any given hour. the sun is shining about 10 minutes a day. i think it's time farm fit-ass was back in full swing. wudduya say? okay!

now, in order to bring back farm fit-ass i probably need to bring back sunday fun day. the goal setting holds me accountable...to me? to my blog? it holds me accountable.

goal time:

1. i have big plans for running this week. regardless of the weather, i will run at least three miles three times this week. that's quite the jump from my three miles/week average. i mean really, i have zero excuse to NOT run. remember that amazing treadmill my farmer got me for christmas? the one with the built in tv? it misses me.

2. we bought a bbq from my very most favorite store...ever. costco. i pretty much paid for a membership so i could walk around and eat the samples. worth it. anyway, we bought a bbq. and it's wonderful. we (i use the term we loosely) grilled lemon pepper chicken kabobs last night. uh, yum. so i fully intend to do some serious grillin' this week. maybe some fish. maybe a dog or two. (hotdogs...) let me set my goal at cooking dinner three times this week...starting yesterday. so two more grill days to go.

3. more h20 for this girl. i have to start drinking more water. i mean, i don't really drink soda. i stay away from juice. so basically i've been dehydrated for the past six years. it's going to by hydration-nation up in these here parts. i'm thinking better skin. less hungry. less head-throbbing/puke feeling when i run. 80 ounces a day. that's the goal.

on a lighter note...i bought this vase from anthro as SOON as it went on sale. i love it. my kitchen loves it. the flowers love it.

my farmer vs. the "b"

Friday, April 13, 2012
my farmer got in a fight with a real "b" the other day. and you know what i want to do to that "b?" i want to hurt. i want to squish. i want to bring the pain.

now, i'm not positive we can really say my farmer came out on the winning side of this fight. i mean...sometimes "b's" just win, ya know? because they are "b's." they do what they want. (very similar to the honey badger.)

and can you believe he fought this "b" while i was traveling for work? i wasn't even there to defend his honor.

seriously. he got stung by a bee in case you didn't catch on. that was a b!tchy bee. my farmer was checking/turning on/prepping our ponds on his four-wheeler so we could begin turning on all the water all over the glorious farm. which turns everything a glorious green and things get real REAL pretty. anyway, he was riding his four-wheeler when a bee colided with his face. this bee got trapped between my farmer's sunglasses and his nose/cheek. this is the end result.

but don't y'all worry. i returned home last night and got right to work on taking care of him. this consisted of a grilled cheese/pesto/shredded chicken sandwich and some cuddling (for about 2 minutes.) then at about 8:30 pm i was asleep on the floor and he was asleep in that glorious chair-and-a-half.

i'll have that chair until the day i die.

my farmer blames our bedtime on hist strict regimen of benadryl. my excuse? osmosis.

but don't y'all worry. my farmer is smokin' hot and will be back to normal in no time.

on another note...

i'ma doin' a bloggy hoppy thingy this glorious friday. do you get bored on friday's and want to read other blogs? you do? perfect...

Blog Hops Everyday and A Mommy's Blog Design Friday Blog Hop

have a nice, little weekend!

my house swallowed me whole

Monday, April 09, 2012
some of you may have been wondering what happened to me.

did the goats carry me off?
did i get run over by a tractor?
am i stuck in a pivot track?
what is a pivot track?

actually...my house has taken over. like, officially. it's calling all the shots and all i can do is follow direction. and people...this is where it's gotten us:

remember when there was no house?

and then we started building? (we = my farmer)

remember when i was showering like this?

and then the shower was completed? my farmer worked some LATE nights tiling this baby. seriously...he did the entire thing himself.

remember when i was sleeping on plywood?

and then my farmer put together our bed...

and he was victorious. (please pardon the disheveled bed and the clothing on the floor. i'm not perfect.)

and now i can do laundry. oh how i love doing laundry. seriously. love.

and i can sit in my cozy chair and watch glorious marathons of 16 and pregnant.

i think eventually we'll get a couch...and some sort of furniture to go under the tv. but for now...just two things: chair + tv = happy farmer's wife.

oh! and the rug came in! and dare i say it looks FAB against the hardwood floors? mmm...love it.

and my fav. part of the house...the kitchen! my amazing friend jeanine came over last week and i worked her all day. i think she was SHOCKED and how much you can pack into a single-wide kitchen...but now it's all (kind-of) organized in this glorious kitchen...which still isn't complete but is fully functional:

things are happening, people! things. are. happening.

you want some woody?

Tuesday, April 03, 2012
woody. five years old maybe? picture stolen from his facebook page.

oh...have you been missing woody? me too.

plus with all this wind out in these here parts i'm a-thinkin' the end of the world is near. we probably need to learn some survivaler tips!

i think this was my FAVORITE survivaler video. i have a big, dumb smile on my face when i watch it.
